New water trap glazing, spraying and inspection solutions, all integrated with the existing handling systems and interfaced with the plant supervisor. This project completes the investment in the Hódmezővásárhely plant, which is pivotal to the Group’s Eastern European growth strategy
Villeroy & Boch continues to invest in the Hódmezővásárhely facility in southern Hungary. Increasingly the focus of the development plans of this German multinational – a leading provider of high quality designer sanitaryware, ceramics and tableware for over two centuries – the Hungarian plant recently saw the completion of stage two of the SACMI robotic glazing line project.
Operational since early 2022, the line consists of a finishing station, internal/external glazing units and all related handling systems; it’s now been completed with a further water trap glazing machine, a second glaze spray booth, controlled by a GA-OL SACMI-Gaiotto robot, and an inspection booth.
All these latest solutions have been integrated with the existing handling systems and interfaced with the customer’s factory supervisor, which features traceability and performance monitoring functions. The SACMI-Gaiotto offline programming software platform, specially developed for glazing, maximizes plant availability and optimizes production mix management; this same cutting-edge platform is, in fact, used on all SACMI sanitaryware production line automation solutions.
With SACMI RobotGlaze, Villeroy & Boch is also targeting environmental sustainability. Delivered glaze quantities and flow rates are optimized by the patented SACMI Mass Control® system and the dry filters that allow for full recovery of the overspray and its complete re-use on the glazing line.
