Initial stage of a far-reaching modernisation and expansion plan completed at the plant in Milia Jijel (Algeria). First SACMI lines for high pressure casting of new one-piece WC models already operational
The Algerian Divindus Group continues to place its confidence in SACMI-developed sanitaryware 4.0 solutions. Following the ambitious investment plan completed at the Tenes plant, SACMI will now supply a comprehensive range of systems for the El-Milia plant, one of the Group’s three production facilities, located in the Algerian city of Milia Jijel.
The first step of that investment – which is already up and running – consists of SACMI AVM casting lines for Vitreous China items. More specifically, the lines produce two new one-piece WC models (using two-part moulds) belonging to the Kotama and Cirta series. Served by automatic de-moulding robots, the two lines also feature two ALS systems for the manual de-moulding of washbasins, pedestals and squat pans. Once again, SACMI has supplied complete modelling systems, totalling 7 models of various types, all made with customer-provided raw materials and de-moulding supports.
SACMI pressure casting also plays a key role in a parallel order for the manufacture of Fine Fire Clay articles. To be specific, El-Milia Divindus has purchased twin SACMI ADS units complete with robotized de-moulding, CTD piece storage and automatic on-car loading robots. The supplied models include kitchen sinks with lengths ranging from 900 to 1200 mm and four different shower trays. SACMI is also supplying the structures needed for the on-site installation and assembly of the storage unit.
This latest order, then, will allow El-Milia to increase productivity across the product range by some 600,000 pieces/year. The already-completed investment is – like the one for the Tenes plant – part of a wider modernisation plan that will, over the coming months, see SACMI supply complete body/glaze preparation lines and latest-generation robotized glazing solutions.
