Officially elected during the General Meeting of Members, on June 24th, the chairman of BMR takes over from Fabio Tarozzi for the four-year term 2016-2020.
ACIMAC – Association of Italian manufactures of machinery and equipment for ceramics – has a new chairman. Friday 24th June, during the annual meeting held in the impressive surroundings of Villa Marchetti in Baggiovara (MO), the representatives of the member companies officially appointed Paolo Sassialla, chairman of BMR, to govern the Association. Last April, he announced his candidacy to the Board of Directors of the Nomination Committee, consisting of the past-chairmen Franco Stefani (System), Pietro Cassani (Sacmi) and Pierluigi Ponzoni (Lema), who subsequently appointed him.
The new chairman made a touching speech to express his gratitude for the new assignment and, before a crowd of members and journalists, he illustrated his program for the next four years.
“Today, I start an incredibly important task that I intend tackling in the same proficient and tenacious way in which I have always directed my company, but also with the same enthusiasm and pro-activeness for which I am known” Mr. Sassi commented just after being appointed. “Over the next four years, we will work together to continue to cultivate our Association and our associates, by providing services and tools to boost our international development, to improve the professional competences of our workers and to expand our companies”.
Paolo Sassi was born in Scandiano (Reggio Emilia) on April 18th 1955 and since 2001 has been the majority shareholder and chairman of BMR Spa. After acquiring Cema (Schio, Vicenza) in 2004, BMR has become the key player in the design and production of complete lines for honing/lapping-treatment and for cutting/splitting-squaring of ceramic tiles and slabs. A new American logistic branch has been recently opened in Dickson-Tennessee, not to forget an important new commercial partnership with the Mexican company Italcer SA de CV.
The founding members of ACIMAC therefore consider Paolo Sassi as the top expert to direct the association, also thanks to the results and the level of internationalization of his company. With these qualities in mind, Mr. Sassi will be the head of ACIMAC for the four-year term 2016-2020, taking over from Fabio Tarozzi, Chairman and CEO of Siti B&T.
