The international jury of the XXIV ADI Compasso d’Oro awards reserves an Honourable Mention for Florim’s large slabs
A high-profile success for Florim Magnum Oversize, bestowed an Honourable Mention at the XXIV ADI Compasso d’Oro awards ceremony and made part of the permanent ADI Compasso d’Oro Historic Collection.
The winners were announced on Tuesday 14 June in Milan during the awards ceremony at Palazzo Isimbardi, which until 24 June will be hosting I 10 giorni del Compasso d’Oro ADI” (“The 10 days of the ADI Compasso d’Oro”), the exhibition dedicated to the winners and participants in this year’s awards. The review brings together 237 design products belonging to different categories (furnishings, lighting, transportation, services, personal items).
After the pre-selection phase carried out by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory, which saw Florim’s large slabs included in the ADI Design Index 2015 (in the macro category “Design of technological materials and systems”), the Compasso d’Oro international jury assessed the best products and projects reviewed in the annual report, bestowing an Honourable Mention on Florim Magnum Oversize, which was just one of over 150 candidates.
Creativity, originality, technique and harmony were the values sought after and rewarded in this edition of the Compasso d’Oro, which assigned a total of 13 Awards and 56 Mentions, as well as the customary Career Awards, International Awards and the Targa Giovani awards for young designers.
Florim’s ceramic maxi slabs once again confirm their reputation as a successful product, known and recognised at international level for their highly advanced technical and aesthetic qualities, the perfect embodiment of the company’s know how. Just two years after hitting the market, Magnum Oversize was also one of the winners of the 2014 ADI Ceramics Design Award at Cersaie.
Available in 9 formats (from 80×80 through to 160×320 cm), with 5 different material inspirations and a thickness of just 6 mm, the Magnum slabs reinterpret the ceramic product introducing the concept of the visual continuity of spaces. The surfaces therefore become universal and highly versatile, capable of bringing new value to the world of construction, architecture and interior design. In fact, in combination with its thinness and lightness, the superb workability of the product makes it possible to push the dimensional limits of ceramics, creating new types of installations alongside traditional wall and floor tiles: tables, kitchen surfaces, doors and fireplaces are just a few of the furniture accessory solutions that can be developed with Florim maxi slabs. Magnum Oversize slabs come in different sizes according to the various identities of the company brands involved in the project: Floor Gres, Rex, Casa dolce casa, Casamood.
