In the Ponte Rosso Art Gallery in Brera, La Fabbrica displays large tiles as frames for sumptuous opera costumes.
From 4 – 9 April, La Fabbrica-AVA will be featured at Milano Design Week, participating in the new edition of Fuorisalone.
At the historic Ponte Rosso Art Gallery in the Brera district of Milan, just a short walk from La Scala opera house, large tiles in porcelain stoneware made by the Castel Bolognese-based company in the province of Ravenna, Italy, will serve as frames for the sumptuous gowns worn by the sopranos of an opera interpreted by Andrea Bocelli in the Teatro del Silenzio in Lajatico (Pisa), his birthplace.
The costumes, made by Waste Recycling, have celebrated an important concept of “recycling”, using scraps and remnants left over from the tailoring of haute couture garments in the fashion district of Florence.
For the Fuorisalone, the duet of sophisticated gowns are displayed together with the sophisticated surface finishes of La Fabbrica, which will accompany them as if on a real fashion runway. The originality of the materials of the costumes, in fact, gives rise to a delightful counterpoint with the preciousness of Extraordinary Size, the large size tile project that offers sizes up to 160×320 cm and are signed by AVA. The finishes are inspired by the timeless beauty of marbles and stones, which for this occasion were mixed in nuances coordinated with the fabrics.
La Fabbrica-AVA invites the public to visit the exhibit in Milan, at the Ponte Rosso Art Gallery in via Brera n. 2 from 4 – 9 April.
