Launched in 2022 with a new kiln, the project has now been completed with the installation of the first Continua+, with capacity soon to double. In short: Florim USA responds to trends on the American market by making full use of the world’s leading large slab and sub-size technology
The US-based Florim branch – a leading manufacturer of high-end designer ceramics – continues to grow with SACMI.
The US market is increasingly receptive to large sizes with ultra-high quality and aesthetics. To meet that demand, Florim – the American headquarters of which is based in Clarksville, Tennessee – has joined forces with SACMI and completed the first step of an ambitious large slab project at its American branch.
In August 2022, the branch installed a new 153.3-metre FMA295 ‘Maestro’, a state-of-the-art kiln already set up to accommodate the future production of large formats.
What’s more, their first Continua+ 2120 line – the latest and ‘smartest’ in the range which SACMI launched on the market in 2021 – has been in operation for several weeks now.
The new PCR2120 works seamlessly with the E7P285 7-level dryer, SACMI digital decoration solutions and automated kiln loading/unloading and handling systems. The plant also includes BMR grinding and lapping lines, end-of-line solutions with LGVs (laser guided vehicles), stackable racks and automatic systems to insert products in crates or on stands.
But that’s not all. Florim USA has set its sights on doubling Continua+ capacity by adding a PCR2000: this will be shipped and started up in the coming months, together with a new E7P dryer.
A major project, then, that underscores SACMI’s role as a key partner to both local manufacturers and international customers who have located production plants here.
