This April marks 30 years of Coverings bringing together the tile and stone community. Both Coverings and the industry have evolved substantially since the first show in 1990 and there is much to celebrate in 2019.
Tile consumption in the U.S. has grown exponentially over the last three decades, and Coverings has been instrumental in facilitating that growth, allowing distributors to meet their suppliers at one time in the same place. Coverings has also grown in size and scope in correlation with the industry, with more than 26,000 attendees expected in 2019 compared to the few hundred that attended that first year in Anaheim. There is now an expansive education program that consistently attracts distinguished speakers. Coverings has become The Global Tile & Stone Experience, not only bringing the entire industry together but also educating the world on the importance of the craft of installation.
In the months leading up to Coverings 2019 in Orlando, we will be celebrating the 30 years of the show, showcasing the evolving tile trends and innovations over the years, interviewing longtime exhibitors and attendees, and looking back at the many U.S. cities that have served as host.
